 I have started, but not completed a new page for planning travel options for partners who would prefer minimal care rental and driving - using trains, buses, taxis in other words.

The original plan had been to ride from Bologna to Galeata which is 100km. No problem with that, but because of the distance I felt compelled to take the shortest route which between Bologna and Forli is the SS9: straight, flat, significant amounts of traffic and not very interesting. The distance also meant that we had little time for any issues at the start or along the way.

Today I have created two new candidate routes: the first assumes we catch the train from Bologna to Faenza and then this route of 50km which is on much quieter roads out in the country. The second route assumes we stay on the train to Forli and then only have to ride 34km.

If we make the decision to use one of these routes rather than ride from Bologna we don't have to decide in advance which one, we can just wait to see what the weather and our timing makes the more suitable.
