Partner Travel without hiring cars

Background

Not everyone likes driving in a foreign country. This page looks at concept of partners using trains where possible to spend most nights (but not all) at same locations as the riders. 

Assumptions (very very subject to change)

1. Julie will with be in Bologna with Keith prior to the bike ride commencing.
2. Pam will join later - probably in Benevento which is a simple train ride from Roma.

Implications from partners not hiring a car

1. Riders are responsible for all of their luggage/baggage.
2. Partners do not have a vehicle available to undertake any kind of a rescue function for stranded or sick riders.
3. Riders should have emergency plans, with contact numbers, for each region.
